Propolis, Hyaluronic Acid and Tea Tree – 3 main ingredients to keep an eye on!
Easter is just around the corner and this week we have organized a digital egg hunt on the website inspired by three favorite ingredients when it comes to Korean skincare, namely propolis, hyaluronic acid and tea tree. In this blog post we go through what each ingredient is, its effect on the skin and product recommendations.
PROPOLIS – Anti-inflammatory gold from honey.
Propolis is a natural substance that bees fill their nests with, where it acts as a “sealant” with an antiseptic function. Propolis is a combination of resin, resin and other plant material that bees ingest when pollinating plants, which are then chewed together into smaller pieces. The purpose is to protect the hive from external damage from bacteria, fungi and viruses. In the same way that it protects the nest, it protects our skin, but the property that most people associate with propolis is its brightening effect. Did you know that research shows that propolis contains around 300 natural substances and is a natural medicine that has been used worldwide.
Dr. Ceuracle Royal Vita Propolis 33 Ampoule – 33% pure propolis together with royal jelly, vitamins B5 and B3 make this best-selling serum a real vitamin bomb. Works to smooth, soothe, repair and brighten. Use after toner and before emollient cream OR apply on top of makeup by gently patting it in with your fingertips on the highest points of the face!
COSRX Lip Sleeping Mask Propolis – a super lovely and nourishing lip mask that repairs and softens with shea butter and propolis. Tip is to see this as an all-in-one balm and apply to dry spots like knuckles, cuticles, knees, elbows, etc. This little jar is generous and lasts a long time!

HYALURONIC ACID – your skin's natural moisturizer.
For whom?
Hyaluronic acid is suitable for basically all skin types but is especially suitable for dry, dehydrated or combination skin that lacks moisture in the form of water. Despite its name, the ingredient should not be confused with exfoliating acids, as hyaluronic acid has no exfoliating properties whatsoever.

TEA TREE – a natural alternative for acne-prone skin .

Please note that all products containing Tea Tree sold on GLOWiD are diluted and safe to use directly on the skin. If you are unsure, always do a patch test first to ensure your skin tolerates the product.
This ingredient is best suited for acne-prone/oily and unbalanced skin that may experience redness and sensitivity due to acne breakouts. It may also be suitable for sensitized, flaky skin as tea tree also has a redness-reducing and balancing effect. Tea tree is not recommended for eczema-prone skin as it may be irritating to the sensitive barrier.
Dr.Ceuracle Tea Tree Purifine series. These products will balance sebum production, cleanse sebum, reduce bacteria and at the same time calm and reduce inflammation and redness from acne breakouts. A bestseller is Tea Tree Purifine 30 Cleansing Foam, a gel cleanser that despite its rich and lovely foaming consistency does not dry out the skin! It is also suitable for sensitive skin.
