Peptider i hudvård

Peptides in skin care

Peptides have become a real talking point in skincare for their effects and are a common ingredient in skincare.

Our new addition Saturday skins philosophy is based on creating the perfect balance for the skin, and all products are made with this in mind to create the best conditions for your skin. In addition to superfruits, they use peptides throughout their products. The products contain a complex of 7 peptides that work in symbiosis with each other and have a peptide formula that promotes the skin's natural regeneration process.

What exactly are peptides?

Peptides are cell-communicating substances that occur naturally in our bodies in several forms. In short, they are small parts of proteins that have formed various long and short chains of amino acids and that have a communicative ability.

What do peptides do?

There are a variety of peptides that work differently, but what they all have in common is that they act as a kind of messenger in the body as they communicate with the skin's cells. Peptides are found in many products that work to prevent aging as they help produce and boost collagen and elastin production in the skin, thus working on the skin's elasticity and firmness.

Peptides also have moisture-binding properties and are often combined in products with antioxidants and amino acids as the ingredients interact and enhance each other to achieve optimal effects.

Saturday skin 7 peptide complex contains peptides. When reading the product's ingredient list, it can be difficult to know what these peptides do for our skin. Below we list the peptides and try to briefly give an insight into their effects.

SH-OLIGOPEPTIDE-1 – Is a peptide called Epidermal growth factor (EGF). Biologically, they are cellular signaling molecules that help stimulate cell growth. The peptide also has healing and anti-aging properties

SH-POLYPEPTIDE-1 – Is a cell-communicating peptide called Basic Fibroblast Growth factor as it stimulates the growth of fibroblasts and helps stimulate collagen and elastin production. Fibroblasts are a type of connective tissue cell found in the dermis, which is the middle layer of the skin's 3 layers. The cells play an important role in the skin's regeneration of connective tissue and produce collagen and proteins. Fibroblasts also communicate with other cells and are an important part of the skin's ability to recover from damage.

SH-OLIGOPEPTIDE-2 - Also called Insulin growth factor 1. The peptide belongs to the same group of ingredients as Epidermal growth factor as it has a cell-stimulating effect on the cells and contributes to the healing process.

SH-POLYPEPTIDE-22- Is not as common a peptide in skin care as unmentioned or other known peptides, but for example hexapepetide-8. The peptide is called Single chain recombinant human peptide and is a peptide that works on fine lines.

SH-POLYPEPTIDE-45- Is also a single chain recombinant human peptide that has cell stimulating effects, works on fine lines and has a healing effect.

SH-POLYPEPTIDE-8- Is a peptide that functions as a humectant, i.e. a moisture-binding peptide

SH-POLYPEPTIDE-9 has a function by boosting fibroblast cells' production of collagen and is important for skin repair.

Our skin consists of millions of different cells that have many different important functions in our body and skin. Many of the peptides used in Saturday skins products are found naturally in our body, which makes them unique with their complex.

The peptides are derived from a fermentation process and the products are produced in collaboration with both medical research institutes and spa facilities.

Therefore, they focus and want to elevate their products not only based on these fantastic superfruits and boosting properties, but together with their 7 Peptide Mix, which is found in all products and works to stimulate cells and prevent aging.

Who are peptides suitable for?

Peptides are an ingredient that suits many skin types and conditions. Peptides that work actively to prevent aging can be a good idea for those with sensitive skin who can't tolerate the most powerful ingredients such as vitamin A. Even pregnant women who don't want to throw away all their active ingredients can benefit from looking for peptides in their skincare.
