Oil cleanser
The double cleanse is the foundation of the Korean skincare routine and allows you to best prepare your skin for subsequent products by getting rid of both oil-based and water-based dirt properly!
It's easy to think that oil cleansing has only been used to remove makeup, and that oil cleansing makes the skin oily and is only suitable for dry skin. But the truth is that oil-based washes are great for all skin types! It effectively removes grease, dirt, sunscreen and oil-based makeup without drying out, removing the skin's protective acid mantle or making the skin oily.
Oil cleansing is applied to dry skin by massaging it in. The oil then sinks into the pores and surrounds the dirt, sebum and makeup that you have accumulated during the day or night. After massaging in the oil for a while, add a little water and massage your skin again. During this process, the dirt is drawn to the surface of the skin along with the oil. The oil also becomes emulsified (milky in consistency) during this process and the dirt is then dissolved. When you rinse off the oil cleanser, the skin feels soft and moisturized, and not oily as you might think! We then recommend following up with a water-based cleanser to get rid of water-based dirt.
